Ridgeline Eventing has been owned and managed by Tom and Beth Barna since 2001. Beth is an active equestrian in both dressage and eventing and has brought a number of horses up through the ranks over the years. She specializes in starting youngsters on their competitive careers and has done so with great success on her own horses as well as well as others horses. Beth has shown successfully through the Preliminary level eventing and third level dressage. She has also helped others to become successful riders, some going on to compete as well.
Beth grew up riding at camp at age seven and took riding lessons through the time her grandparents purchased a horse for her at age 13 (grandmother was a horse person). Beth continued riding with friends at Darby Dague Farm in her hometown of Concord MA and attended local Hunter shows and joined Pony Club in which she started Eventing at age thirteen. She went on to compete through Training Level as well as Fox Hunted and competed in the New England Hunter Trails. She went on to Cazenovia College In Cazenovia NY Obtaining a degree in Applied Science (Equine Studies) and worked with acclaimed FEI trainer Kathy Connelly in which she obtained an HA rating from the US Pony Club Before age twenty one.
After college, Beth worked as a barn manager at Your Farther's Mustache Farm in Conneticut. Her job
entailed running a small boarding stable as well as caring for several FEI dressage horses. She also
groomed at shows and even assised in flying the horses to and from Europe.After 6 years , she started
her own bussiness , running her own Out To Pasture Farm near Hartford Conneticut. She and Tom leased the
facility for 3 years until it was sold.They then moved to Vermont ,managing Red wing farm in Brownsville
Vermont for 3 years before moving to their curent address in Pomfret Vermont.All the while, Beth was
teaching and training at numerous barns in the area, including teaching at Dartmouth College Riding
Center ( for 17 years)There she taught Dartmouth studends, the general public, and directed and ran
"The Challange Program ", a program for special needs children and young adults.
Beth has worked with many diverse types of horses and different breeds including off track Thoroughbreds, Morgans, European Warmbloods, Quarter Horses, Draft Crosses , and her own Irish Sport Horses.
Beth has also earned her ARICP (American Riding Instructors Certification Program)Certification in both Dressage and Combined Training (Eventing) She has also recieved numerous Year End Awards on several different horses.
